WAITING IN FRONT OF AN EMPEROR'S VIEW
Music turned off too soon
like a crack racing
through glass.
Blue lights swirl my apartment
while my loyal dog sleeps.
My white scars shine in the milkglow.
Easy to see and lonely.
I can hear forks click plates through the wall.
Empty wine bottles
used up and worthless.
Sitting in the milkglow
waiting for the future.
I drink beer from a wine glass. Waiting.
